BEP was established in 1984: starting as a small business venture, located in Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon, Hong Kong.

In 1988, the Group relocated to its present address in Fotan, Hong Kong and is principally engaged in the design, manufacture and sale of home electrical appliances, including: electric irons and kettles, heaters, toasters, sandwich makers, coffee mills & grinders.

In 1986, the Group set up its first manufacturing operation in Shenzhen, China and in 1992, to provide for future expansion the Group opened its own purpose built manufacturing facilities in Bao An, China.

A total area of around 100,000 square meters, allows for sufficient space for existing needs and for future expansion. To back up the production capability over HK$50 million has been invested by the Group in advanced machinery and equipment. Employing more than 1,500 employees, BEP turns out more than 5 million pieces of home appliances every year.

To secure an uninterrupted utility supply, BEP runs its own power generating plant with a power output of 6,100 kW, and has water reservoirs with a total storage capacity of more than 30,000 cubic meters. BEP's manufacturing plant has been accredited with ISO-9002 certification since 1998.

Most of the Group's products are sold to: Europe, North America, Asia & the Middle East , Australia & New Zealand.

BEP is an export-oriented company, it benefits from the abundant supply of skilful labour in Mainland China, providing quality products but at competitive prices.

BEP is highly vertically integrated and has a very strong team of R&D engineers, responsible for product design and development, supplemented by production and industrial engineers, where ideas, on the drawing board, are converted into final products, rolling-out from the production-lines, seamlessly.

To reduce reliance on external suppliers for thermostats, a critical component used in electric iron products, BEP made its first thermostat in 1993 with assistance from Japanese consultants.

A team of, well trained quality assurance staff are responsible for monitoring product quality during all stages of manufacturing. Moulds and tooling are built in-house by a team of experienced technicians. BEP has built up its reputation as a reliable and quality supplier.

In order to reduce paper work and improve efficiency, an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with dedicated leased lines was installed in 2001, connecting the Group's Hong Kong office with its manufacturing plant in China.
